Check if your qualifications are recognized: The NMC will only recognize certain nursing qualifications from overseas. You should check whether your nursing qualification is recognized by the NMC. You can do this by using the NMC’s online tool.
Register with the NMC: Once you have confirmed that your nursing qualification is recognized, you can apply to register with the NMC. You will need to complete an application form and provide evidence of your nursing qualification, as well as your English language proficiency.

Complete an OSCE

Overseas nurses who wish to work in the UK must complete the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE). This exam tests your practical nursing skills and knowledge. You can take the OSCE in the UK or in your home country.

Find a job
